During a 3-month period (Nov 2015-Jan 2016), adult patients presenting to an advanced nurse practitioner clinic with a suspected LRTI were offered POC CRP testing (n=68). The number of patients receiving antibiotic prescriptions was compared with the same 3-month period in the previous year (Nov 2014- Jan 2015), which did not include POC CRP testing (n=106). A review of the GP notes was conducted for every patient 28 days after initial presentation to monitor any unscheduled attendances either to primary, secondry or urgent care for the same complaint. Description of Data Columns: patient number: An anonymised patient number. Patient Numbers in each data file are not related. CRP result: Integer values of Point-of-care C-reactive protein test, mg/L. Values of less than 5 mg/L are represented by <5. prescribing outcome: The antibiotic prescribing outcome at initial presentation in the clinic. Values in this column can be: * abx = antibiotics prescribed at initial presentation * no abx = no antibiotics prescribed * delayed abx = delayed antibiotic prescription unscheduled re-attendance within 28 days: Indicates if the patient had any unscheduled attendances to primary, secondary or urgent care for the same complaint within 28 of initial presentation Values in this column can be: * yes * [empty] = no
