Abstract
Describes the new Supervisory Law Courts building by C+S Architects in a large redevelopment project, the Piazzale Roma, in Venice, which is constrained by having to fit into a historic city. Conceived as part of an integrated urban area, two floors of the building house systems which also supply surrounding buildings, while the ground floor has shops and cafes which draw the public in and symbolise their open access to the legal system.
