Abstract
Originally created as a daily improvisation over the course of one month in 2003, Nile served as metafictional platform via which to directly address the reader and express my thinking on the digital comics form. Among the topics the comic explored were the materiality of webcomics and animation and sound's relationship to the temporal map of comics. The work's continued significance was also highlighted in 2012 by its inclusion in the Morning Serial exhibition on webcomics at The Henry Art Gallery in Seattle.
