Abstract
Is innovation in contemporary education inevitably subject to the private and business orientated values of entrepreneurialism? The question is a challenge for school leaders who value the ethics of collaboration and community rather than the self-centred goals of individual and organisational competition. The chapter outlines briefly how one school leader created a path towards a very different model of social action and educational success, based on the values of co-operativism.
