Ger Joyce, ’Adaption of Usability Evaluation Methods for Native Smartphone Applications’, paper presented at the 16th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices & Services, Toronto, Canada, 23-26 September, 2014.
Research has shown that traditional usability evaluation methods cannot be readily applied to the evaluation of native smartphone applications. This research investigates this issue by adapting two usability evaluation methods, applying each at different stages of the design life cycle. Both adapted methods, when combined as a framework, may help in the design of more usable native smartphone applications.en
