Emergency nursing is demanding especially over the winter months so it is difficult for emergency nurses to remain patient with the government when they find they are working with fewer resources than recommended to ministers. Following the leaked draft NICE guidance the government appear to have downplayed the significance of this important evidence to establish safe staffing levels in emergency departments.
