Abstract
The Hardened Automated Sample Extraction from Filters (H-ASEF) unit is a redevelopment of the previously design ASEF platform to allow for more robust and extensive performance testing. The H-ASEF platform is concerned with the recovery of harmful airborne pathogens from high aspect ratio reticulated foam filters. Specifically the H-ASEF system aims to provide a robust instrument capable of reliable operation during a more extensive testing programme with multiple rounds of rigorous decontamination as a result of repeated exposure to potentially hazardous test materials at the clients test facility.
