User interface design and computer music systems

Abstract

This report describes preliminary work carried out as part of a PhD research project into the design of user interfaces for computer music systems (incorporating software synthesis systems). It describes some of the features of computer music systems, problems with current user interfaces and a possible approach to developing solutions.
