This document presents a comprehensive overview of the Hatfield Superscalar Scheduler (HSS). It concentrates on the concepts involved rather than on the detailed coding because the scheduler is in a state of evolution and is constantly under review. The main features of the scheduler, its associated data structures, and the parameters that define and control the scheduler are fully described. A complete list of the parameters is also found in the appendix. This document is intended to be a guide for anyone with an interest in scheduling, or for anyone who wants to know how to use HSS.en
