Abstract
This text examines the supervisory process in the psychotherapeutic practice of dance and movement. It explores how the language of the body is essential for psychotherapists and counsellors to study. Some main points for discussion are : a summary of supervision in dance movement therapy, working with the embodied self, issues across cultures, the use of authentic movement in supervision, and what a novice practitioner can expect to encounter. This text is highly useful for supervisors of dance movement therapy, art therapists and counsellors.
