dc.description.abstract | In contemporary society there is a need to ensure that care provision is both of a high quality and that it is also based on equality. Nurses need to understand what their role is when caring for transgendered people. In attempting to provide high quality care to the transgendered population it is necessary to examine the complexities and challenges associated with gender identity.
