Data comes in many forms, and while TEF will draw on specific metrics, student satisfaction can be measured in a variety of ways, including poster sessions and discussion groups. The informal gathering of data about student satisfaction, or ‘temperature testing’, can be carried out at intervals, leading to the ongoing evolution of a module, shaped by the needs of a cohort. These processes can have value not only in informing curriculum development, but also in providing situations in which students can recognise opportunities for learning and to understand, and inform, the design of their programme. Curriculum development becomes a staff/student partnership.
