Lumina : [for cello and piano]

Arden, Jeremy (2011) Lumina : [for cello and piano]. [Composition]
Copy

Lumina is primarily an authentic musical expression with a poetic origin. Its originality lies in the techniques used to render its surface. Lumina is constructed using attack group theory, first described by Joseph Schillinger, (New York 1946) in the 1930s. So far it has been impossible to definitively ascribe this technique to an existing composition through analysis of the score. Lumina is significant because it is the only published composition which rigorously shows the application of attack group techniques.
