The chapters in this fully-edited text convey an international view on leadership and management roles and their relationship to improving education systems. The interactions of educational institutions are explored at local, national and global levels with case studies and examples from European, Asian and African countries. Two main themes are examined. One is the move to site-based management for educational institutions, and how this is linked to improvement. The other identifies the idea of learning for all and discusses the ways that leadership and management can contribute towards the development and enhancement of student learning, staff development and the growth of an institution. The authors use a range of international literature relating to educational leadership, management and administration. This textbook is of great use to student at masters-level.
