Biological control of nematodes principally concerns the exploitation of microbial agents. As cultural methods of crop protection have profound effects on microbial abundance, diversity and activity in soil, it is appropriate that both approaches to nematode management are considered together. This chapter discusses the two methods of nematode control: (i) biological that involves the use of predators, nematophagous fungi, endophytic fungi and bacteria, and (ii) cultural which includes crop rotation, application of soil amendments and green manures, and physical soil treatments.
