Launches GUIDE Framework: A Five-Step Tool to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance Through Evidence-Based Prescribing and Stewardship

This article summarises the global launch of the GUIDE Framework, a five-step antimicrobial stewardship tool developed to support prescribers, AMS teams, and policymakers—particularly in developing countries—in optimising antibiotic use and addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The piece provides an overview of the framework’s evidence base, clinical rationale, implementation applications across health systems, and policy implications for low-resource settings. It also outlines global stakeholder participation, survey results from attendees, and next steps for integrating GUIDE into national AMR action plans and clinical governance structures.
