Abstract
This text provides an overview for health care workers, of what services are available for people in the UK who have skin conditions. It is an updated version of the 1997 edition, and outlines the burdens caused by skin disease by examining case study data, quality of life and direct economic costs that are incurred. The text provides a description of what services exist for people with skin conditions, including self-management and professional services. It discusses the procedures of care in the NHS and the relevant UK health systems, particular services in England.
