This imaginary research article, published in the Journal of Imaginary Research, explores the visionary concept of “Exploring the Plan of Bacteria: AI and Flourishing Beyond.” Authored by Dr Rasha Abdelsalam Elshenawy, the study imagines a fictional Petri dish dialogue between two antibiotic-resistant strains—Resistance Superbug Meropenem-Adapted (RSMA) and Resistopia coli (R.coli)—who reveal their evolutionary logic not as villains, but as survivors adapting to human antibiotic misuse and agricultural practices. These intelligent microbes unveil Bac-GPT, an imagined open-source bacterial AI designed to facilitate microbial learning, inter-species communication, and even space colonisation. Their goal is to create microbial intelligence networks across the galaxy and ensure long-term survival beyond Earth. Using a blend of humour, academic parody, and real-world public health insights, this creative abstract underscores the urgency of developing next-generation antibiotics, while reimagining a future of human–microbe cooperation powered by AI and innovation. The article challenges readers to consider an alternative narrative—where bacteria are not enemies, but potential allies in the quest for planetary and interstellar flourishing.
